Palo Alto - Modern Makeover on a Budget

This 1950's one story Ranch was purchased by a Dutch family with modern taste and a vision for its potential. Relocating the kitchen to the back opened up the desired indoor/outdoor living style with connections to the back patio. The 8 foot ceilings were vaulted and skylights added. A new master wing turned a boring rectangle plan into an L-shape with views to the yard. The entire house was gutted and updated with modern fixtures and finishes from European vendors - The project was completed on a modest budget and the family of 5 was thrilled with the results.
